Amanda Anisimova, the only player to have beaten the world's Top 3
After a long battle with herself, Amanda Anisimova has delivered an impressive performance: beating the world's three best players in 2025.
A little over a year ago, Amanda Anisimova was ranked beyond 130th in the world. But in 2025, everything changed. After months of silence and hard work, the 24-year-old American has returned to the forefront.
And the result is there: she is the only player this season to have beaten the world's top three ranked players, Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff. A significant triple, especially as these victories occurred in three major tournaments: Wimbledon, the US Open, and Beijing.
It all started on the grass of Wimbledon. In an electrifying semi-final, Anisimova came from behind to defeat Aryna Sabalenka (6-4, 4-6, 6-4). Facing the power of the Belarusian, the American countered with a blend of speed, tactics, and efficiency.
Then, in New York (US Open), Anisimova struck hard once again. In the quarter-finals, she eliminated world number 2 Iga Swiatek in a very solid match (6-4, 6-3).
And as if fate wanted to complete the circle, Anisimova concluded her trilogy in Beijing, by defeating the American champion Coco Gauff (6-1, 6-2).
