Andreescu, Errani, Parry: Roland-Garros Reveals List of Women Entering Qualifiers

Similar to the men's draw, Roland-Garros has unveiled the list of female players who will participate—barring any last-minute wildcards—in the qualifiers to secure a spot in the main draw.

Former Grand Slam champion Bianca Andreescu will be the main headliner of the qualifying draw. Sara Errani, a 2012 singles finalist, has also been invited by the organizers.

Both past semifinalists Tamara Zidansek and Martina Trevisan will be in the mix, alongside Linda Fruhvirtova, Petra Martic, and Jule Niemeier.

For now, the top two seeds in these qualifiers are Taylor Townsend (world No. 98) and Yuliia Starodubtseva (world No. 99), who recently reached the quarterfinals in Madrid.

Some injured players have also activated their protected rankings, such as Kaja Juvan, Storm Hunter, and Mihaela Buzarnescu. The 36-year-old Romanian has not played a single match since the Iasi tournament in August 2022.

On the French side, nine players are expected to compete in the qualifiers. Léolia Jeanjean, Diane Parry, Elsa Jacquemot, Chloé Paquet, Manon Léonard, Jessika Ponchet, Selena Janicijevic, Fiona Ferro, and Tessah Andrianjafitrimo will represent France next month and attempt to advance to the main draw.

As a reminder, at this stage, only Caroline Garcia and Varvara Gracheva are guaranteed a spot in the main draw among the French players. Alizé Cornet will not participate in this edition, while Clara Burel, who is seriously injured with a knee issue, will also be absent.
