Andreeva Advances to Wimbledon's Second Week After Victory Over Baptiste

With the top seeds falling like dominoes at this year's Wimbledon, Mirra Andreeva is seizing her opportunity. As one of the few surviving top 10 players in London, the world No. 7 from Russia has held her ground so far.
After defeating Mayar Sherif (6-3, 6-3) and Lucia Bronzetti (6-1, 7-6), the 18-year-old faced Hailey Baptiste for a chance to reach the fourth round. On Court 1, Andreeva delivered a high-quality performance, firing 28 winners and committing just 12 unforced errors.
Dominant throughout the match, she sealed the win in two tight sets (6-1, 6-3) and will now face either Emma Navarro or defending champion Barbora Krejcikova for a spot in the quarterfinals.
If she triumphs in the next round, she will surpass her previous best result at the London Grand Slam, having lost to Madison Keys in the 2023 fourth round.
