Andreeva, Bencic, a Muchova-Shnaider Clash: Wednesday, October 15 Schedule in Ningbo

This Wednesday marks the start of the round of 16 at the Ningbo WTA 500 tournament, and some top players will be on the courts for the occasion.

This week in Ningbo, the race to qualify for the WTA Finals will intensify. Three players in the Chinese tournament will be competing for a spot in the Masters in Riyadh. This will be the case for Mirra Andreeva.

The Russian, the tournament's number 1 seed, will close the day's program against wild card Zhu Lin, ranked 219th in the world, who defeated Emma Raducanu in the first round (3-6, 6-4, 6-1). The 18-year-old player will make her debut in this tournament, having reached the final last year against Daria Kasatkina.

Before that, three other matches will have taken place earlier in the day. Belinda Bencic will kick off the action at 7:00 a.m. (French time) against Yuliia Starodubtseva, who came through the qualifiers.

The Ukrainian eliminated Yulia Putintseva in the first round (6-4, 6-2). Following that, Ajla Tomljanovic will challenge Zeynep Sönmez. In the third match, the day's highlight will feature Karolina Muchova against Diana Shnaider.
