Raducanu Eliminated in Ningbo After Two Concerning Medical Alerts
Another tough blow for Emma Raducanu. Defeated in the first round of the Ningbo WTA 500 by Lin Zhu (3-6, 6-4, 6-1), the British player saw her match take a painful turn: two medical timeouts.
Emma Raducanu still can't find her footing. This Tuesday in Ningbo, the young British player was eliminated in the first round of the WTA 500 tournament by Chinese player Zhu Lin, after a three-set match (3-6, 6-4, 6-1). Struggling with pain, she had to call for medical staff twice, particularly for back pain.
After winning the first set, Emma then saw her opponent take control of the match (the Chinese player created 22 break point opportunities).
The Asian tour is turning into a nightmare for the 2021 US Open champion, who was already eliminated early in Seoul.
Meanwhile, Lin Zhu (ranked 219th), who received a wild card from the tournament organizers, will face Andreeva in the second round.
