Andreeva: "I didn't expect to be in the semi-finals, but I have to be ready".
Mirra Andreeva seems even more surprised than everyone else to be in the French Open semi-finals. She faces another surprise guest this Thursday afternoon, Italy's Jasmine Paolini. But even if the 17-year-old Russian feels like she's living a daydream, she's not satisfied and wants to perform. That's what she reminded us at the press conference.
Mirra Andreeva: "I'd say I wasn't really expecting to play in the semi-finals. When I played Gracheva a few days ago, I thought 'Well, if I win this match, I'll be in the quarters. Then I'll play Sabalenka and, if I win, I'll be in the semi-finals. That would be a dream.
And I'm actually going to play in the semi-finals. It's sort of come true. So, looking back, I wouldn't have expected to play in the semi-finals because it was just a kind of dream for me at the start of the tournament. But now I'm actually going to play them, so I have to be ready for the match."
