Swiatek already has one foot in the French Open final!
Since her miracle victory in the second round (over Osaka, 7-6, 1-6, 7-5), Iga Swiatek has been disgusting all her opponents. In three matches, she has conceded just 8 games, i.e. barely more than one game per set. Against Coco Gauff (world no. 3) in the semi-finals, the Polish player has so far had little difficulty in imposing her game, winning the first set by a wide margin (6-2 in 35 minutes).
Faced with an American who wasn't really up to the task (19 unforced errors, 52% first serve), the world number 1 didn't need to exert herself. Without taking many risks, she proved extremely solid, giving away very few points (5 unforced errors) and managing the hot moments perfectly (2 break points saved out of 2 and 2 break points converted out of 3).
Already crowned champion three times at Porte d'Auteuil (2020, 2022, 2023), Swiatek continues her quest for a 4th title.
Gauff, on the other hand, will have to play a lot better and, above all, give a lot less if she is to have any chance of really upsetting her unflappable opponent.
