Andreeva Triumphs Over Sabalenka at Indian Wells!

Mirra Andreeva confirms that she is indeed the sensation of this early year on the WTA tour, having won the Indian Wells tournament this Sunday at the expense of Aryna Sabalenka (2-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the final.
Andreeva, who was playing her second career final in a WTA 1000 event after Dubai last month, was the first to earn break points, taking advantage of a hesitant start from the world No. 1.
However, Sabalenka then adjusted her game to claim the first set with authority, confirming her dominance in recent head-to-head matches against the young Russian (two straight-set victories in 2025).
While it seemed this final would logically swing in favor of the Belarusian, Andreeva managed to turn the tide by securing her first break of the match at 2-1 in the second set, enough to push the match into a suspense-filled third set.
Riding the momentum of this set, the first she had won against Sabalenka since Roland-Garros last year, she then dominated the proceedings, leaving no chance for the world No. 1 to make a comeback.
After 2 hours and 3 minutes of play and a fifth successful break, she claimed the biggest title of her career at Indian Wells, also securing her second consecutive WTA 1000 crown, which now places her on a streak of twelve consecutive victories.
Andreeva, a women's tennis prodigy at just 17 years old, will occupy the 6th spot in the WTA rankings tomorrow. She has also become the youngest player to win the tournament since Serena Williams in 1999.
