Andreeva wins her first WTA 1000 in Dubai!

Mirra Andreeva triumphed this Saturday in Dubai, winning the first WTA 1000 tournament of her career at the expense of Clara Tauson in the final (7-6, 6-1).
Unsurprisingly, both players were tense in the first set, Tauson getting off to a better start (2-0, 30-0) before Andreeva began to find her feet in this final.
Sharper in the exchange, the Russian, after serving for the set win at 5-4, finally managed to make the difference in the tie-break.
On the other side, Tauson seemed to be paying for the physical and emotional fatigue he had accumulated over the week, particularly after the almost three-hour battle with Muchova in yesterday's semi-final.
Unsurprisingly, the Dane offered less resistance in the second set, allowing Andreeva to cruise to the biggest title of her young career.
At 17 years and 299 days, the Russian became the youngest winner of a WTA 1000 since the format was introduced in 2009, and the youngest player ever to claim the title in Dubai.
She will enter the Top 10 on Monday at world No. 9, becoming the youngest player to do so since Nicole Vaidisova in 2006 (17 years and 106 days).
