Andreeva withdraws from Cincinnati and uncertain for US Open
Eliminated in the third round of the WTA 1000 in Montreal by McCartney Kessler (7-6, 6-4), Mirra Andreeva left her match with an ankle injury.
Unfortunately, this injury has forced her to withdraw from the Cincinnati tournament, scheduled for August 7-18.
Ranked No. 5 in the world, the Russian player is also uncertain for the US Open, where she reached the second round last year (defeated by Krueger, 6-1, 6-4).
It’s worth noting that to reach the third round of the Canadian tournament, she benefited from the withdrawal of Andreescu, who was also injured in the ankle.
