Anisimova after her Doha title: "There was a lot of hard work, tears and good times".

Amanda Anisimova won her first WTA 1000 title at the age of 23 in Doha, a sign that her bad days are now well behind her.
The American had in fact taken a career break between April 2023 and January 2024, in order to treat a burn-out.
At the trophy ceremony, she spoke of the importance of this title, only 13 months after her return to competition: "This week has been incredible. The atmosphere has been superb, and I love playing here, in front of this audience.
So to be able to lift the trophy for my first WTA 1000 here is obviously something special.
I wouldn't have been able to do it without my team, without the work we've done together. I love you and, without you, none of this would have been possible.
There's been a lot of hard work, tears and good times. I think tennis is a unique experience, but that's also why I love the sport.
There have been a huge number of challenges over the last few weeks, and I'm very happy and proud of the way I've handled them."
