Anisimova after qualifying for the Doha final: "I've worked really hard to get to this position".
The line-up for the WTA 1000 Doha final is now set. This Saturday, Jelena Ostapenko and Amanda Anisimova will battle it out for the title in Qatar.
After the Latvian's two-set victory over Iga Swiatek, the American dominated Ekaterina Alexandrova without forcing her way into the final, conceding just one set on her way to the title (Anisimova dominated Azarenka, Badosa, Fernandez, Kostyuk and Alexandrova).
On court after her victory over the Russian (6-3, 6-3), the 23-year-old is savouring her run and feels ready for the grand final, which will be her 2nd in the WTA 1000 after last year's Canadian Open.
"I've certainly worked very hard to get into this position today. My team has done a great job with me since the start of pre-season.
Everything has worked very well here, and I'm happy with the results I've achieved and especially with the matches I've played so far.
I've played so many tough competitors this week, so having so many matches in my legs is a great feeling. I'm just very happy to be in the final.
We've already played Jelena in Doha, and that was a tough match. I think she likes the courts here, she plays really well.
I'm really looking forward to this match, finals are always interesting to play", said Anisimova.
