Swiatek will compete for her sixth Grand Slam title this Saturday in the Wimbledon final. Seeking another trophy since her 2024 Roland-Garros victory, the Polish star has surprised everyone with an outstanding London fortnight.
Facing Anisimova, the former world No. 1 took a moment to highlight the American’s courage in returning to the top level after years of psychological struggles:
"She had a great tournament before Wimbledon. She knows how to play on grass. With her playing style, the surface suits her, so it’s going to be a challenge. Anyone who has struggled mentally and comes back to a very high level deserves a lot of respect. Amanda is definitely one of those players who fights through tough situations. For context, Anisimova withdrew from the professional tour between April 2023 and January 2024 to regroup mentally and physically. The break clearly paid off, as she has now reached her first Grand Slam final.
