Arthur Fils Frustrated After Defeat Against Alcaraz: "I'm Furious"

Arthur Fils fell in the quarterfinals of Monte-Carlo to Alcaraz. In a fiercely contested match, the Frenchman exited in dramatic fashion after three sets against the Spaniard (4-6, 7-5, 6-3).
After the match, the world No. 15 shared his thoughts in a press conference. He spoke about the frustration of missing key opportunities:
"I had chances, and I didn’t convert them. Things shifted very quickly at the end of the second set. Between 5-5 and 7-5, in just a few minutes, I didn’t handle the situation well, and as the great champion he is, he took full advantage.
So, I need to learn from this. It’s frustrating because I had plenty of opportunities to take the lead, and I didn’t. There are positives, but also negatives. I’ll have to talk with my team and see what I need to improve.
I’m furious. It’s so tough to lose these kinds of matches with chances. If you lose 6-2, 6-2, it’s annoying, but you tell yourself your level wasn’t good enough. Here, I have to take the lessons from it."
