Terence Atmane clinched the Busan Challenger title this Sunday in South Korea. The 23-year-old Frenchman, currently ranked 177th in the world, defeated the top seed, Adam Walton, in the final to claim his first title of 2025 (6-3, 6-4).

The left-hander fired 8 aces and converted 4 of the 7 break points he earned. After eliminating James McCabe (7-6, 7-6), Omar Jasika (6-3, 2-6, 6-4), Ilia Simakin (6-4, 1-6, 6-3), and Brandon Holt (7-6, 3-6, 6-4), Atmane, the No. 8 seed in the Korean city, overcame Walton, ranked 86th in the world and a Miami Masters 1000 quarterfinalist, to secure the tournament victory.

When the next ATP rankings are released this Monday, he will rise 41 spots to reach No. 136. It’s worth noting that Atmane is also entered in the South Korean tournament in Gwangju, where he is set to face Alibek Kachmazov in his opening match early next week.

Training future champions: spotlight on the decline of the French public model facing private academies

As federations struggle to reinvent themselves, private academies are capturing talent… but also families able to invest tens of thousands of euros a year. A system that is increasingly effective, but also increasingly unequal.

Struggles with injuries and lack of money: the double punishment for tennis players far from the Top 100 stars

A tennis player's income depends solely on his sporting results. In the event of injury, the daily life of those far from the Top 100 can become extremely complicated.

Is padel threatening tennis? Inside the revolution shaking up the established order

Born almost by accident in an Acapulco garden, padel has in fifty years become a global phenomenon that both fascinates and worries tennis. Its meteoric rise is already reshaping the landscape of racket sports.
The impact of the war on tennis in Ukraine: financial aid, foundations, governing bodies and all‑round headaches
The impact of the war on tennis in Ukraine: financial aid, foundations, governing bodies and all‑round headaches

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
