Wawrinka and Cilic Among Players Entered in Roland-Garros Qualifiers

Next month, the eyes of tennis fans will be on Roland-Garros, the second Grand Slam of the season, which will conclude the clay-court swing. While the wild cards for the main draw are still to be announced, several players have already entered the qualifying rounds.
On its official website, Roland-Garros published the list of male players who—barring wild cards—will compete for a spot in the main draw. Among them is Stan Wawrinka.
At 40 years old, the Swiss, who triumphed at Porte d’Auteuil in 2015, hopes to shine once again on the Parisian clay after reaching the second round last year. Another former Major champion, Marin Cilic, is also in the mix.
Now ranked 109th in the world, the Croatian, who has struggled with injuries in recent years, could have another chance to compete in a Grand Slam main draw if he clears the qualifying hurdle.
Other notable players in the qualifiers include Daniel Evans, Aslan Karatsev, Christopher Eubanks, as well as 15 French players such as Arthur Cazaux, Adrian Mannarino, Terence Atmane, Valentin Royer, Harold Mayot, Constant Lestienne, and Luca Van Assche. See the full list below.
