Zverev: "In 2017, the top was incredible, but the depth is greater now"
Alexander Zverev was asked about recent statements from players claiming it is now easier to break into the Top 10 than it was before.
He responded: "Certainly not, it’s much harder now. When I first entered the top 10 in 2017, yes, the top 10 was very strong. There were top-level players like Novak, Rafa, Roger, Andy, Stan, del Potro.
However, I’d say the level from 10th to 20th, and then from 20th to 30th, was much lower than it is today. Yes, the top was incredible, but the depth is far greater now."
