ATP 250 Auckland draw: Shelton top seed, Mpetshi Perricard-Monfils in the second round

As the women's edition draws to a close, the ATP 250 Auckland tournament gets underway in New Zealand.

Number 1 seed Ben Shelton enters the second round against either Jakub Mensik or Alexandre Muller. The Frenchman will play in the final against Kei Nishikori in Hong Kong, and should therefore be able to follow this up.

Number 2 seed Alejandro Tabilo will face Fabian Marozsan or a qualifier in his first match. Other players of note include Sebastian Baez, Flavio Cobolli, Cameron Norrie, Alex Michelsen and Francisco Cerundolo.

In the French camp, Lucas Pouille, invited by the organizers, will start with a tricky first round against Roberto Carballes Baena.

Gaël Monfils will face another Spanish player, Pedro Martinez. Finally, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will be stepping up his preparations for the Australian Open against Bu Yunchaokete. If successful, the two men will meet again in the second round.

The only Frenchman to reach the second round of qualifying, Adrian Mannarino will face Sumit Nagal in the main draw.
