ATP 250 Hong Kong tournament draw: Rublev, Musetti et Fils set, Tien-Norrie and Shapovalov-Nishikori in first round
The 2025 tennis season is gradually getting underway. For the first week of ATP tournaments, Brisbane will not be the only event organized in preparation for the Australian Open.
Hong Kong will host its own tournament, won by Andrey Rublev last year.
And just as well, the Russian is the tournament's number 1 seed. Exempted from the first round, he will face either his compatriot Roman Safiullin or Fabian Marozsan.
Karen Khachanov, seeded number 3, will play his first match in the second round against the winner of the match between Denis Shapovalov and Kei Nishikori.
Arthur Fils is currently one of only two French players in the draw (Atmane, Grenier and Royer will play in the qualifiers).
The 20-year-old will kick off his 2025 season with a match against Zizou Bergs or a qualifier. Alexandre Muller, meanwhile, will play a qualifier for his first match.
Finalist at last week's Next Gen ATP Finals, Learner Tien faces a tough first round against another left-hander, Cameron Norrie.
Last but not least, Lorenzo Musetti, seeded number 2, is in a section of the draw with a strong Spanish accent, with the presence of Munar, Carballes Baena and Davidovich Fokina. The tournament begins on Monday December 30.
