ATP 250 Umag Tournament Draw: Cerundolo and Darderi as Top Seeds, Herbert and Atmane the Only French Players
Following the withdrawals of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Tallon Griekspoor, Hubert Hurkacz, and Valentin Royer, the Umag tournament, held annually at the same time of year, will take place on Croatian clay.
Top seed and defending champion Francisco Cerundolo will return and attempt to secure a double. With a first-round bye, he will enter the competition in the round of 16 against one of the two French players in the draw, Pierre-Hugues Herbert or Carlos Taberner.
Mariano Navone will face Tomas Barrios Vera in a rematch of their encounter this week in Bastad. In Sweden, the Argentine won in straight sets (7-5, 7-5). Meanwhile, Stan Wawrinka, seeking his first main-tour victory since April 1, will start against a qualifier and could face fourth seed Damir Dzumhur if he advances.
Terence Atmane, who will represent France alongside Herbert in the draw, has been paired with Dusan Lajovic and would face Kamil Majchrzak or a qualifier in the round of 16 if he clears the first-round hurdle.
Finally, second seed Luciano Darderi, still competing in Bastad (like Cerundolo), will face Chun-Hsin Tseng or a qualifier in the second round. See the full draw below.
