ATP 500 Hamburg: Zverev Makes Strong Start, Rublev and Müller Also Advance

The Hamburg tournament, now scheduled for the week before Roland-Garros, saw its top seeds advance to the second round on Monday.

World No. 3 Alexander Zverev, the defending champion from 2023, got off to a strong start against Aleksandar Kovacevic, winning 6-1, 7-6 in an hour and a half. He will next face Alexandre Müller, who secured his spot after defeating Elias Ymer (6-3, 7-5).

Third seed Andrey Rublev was also in action and had no trouble dispatching Damir Dzumhur with a composed 6-4, 6-3 victory. He now awaits the winner of the match between Jan-Lennard Struff and Justin Engel.

Frances Tiafoe, Gaël Monfils, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Sebastian Baez, and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will take the court tomorrow.
