ATP 500 Washington Draw: Possible Rematch Between Fritz and Mpetshi Perricard, Medvedev, Shelton, Musetti, or Rublev in the Mix

The American tour officially kicks off on Monday with the ATP 500 in Washington.

For this first week of outdoor hardcourt competition, several top 10 players will be featured as they fine-tune their games ahead of the Toronto and Cincinnati Masters 1000 events.

World No. 4 Taylor Fritz will be the top seed in the American capital. In his opening match, he could face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, provided the latter overcomes Aleksandar Vukic in the first round. The two previously clashed at Wimbledon, where Fritz secured a five-set victory.

In the other half of the draw, Lorenzo Musetti will need to hold his ground. The Italian, who has been hampered by an injury since Roland-Garros, will face either Cameron Norrie or a qualifier in the second round.

Holger Rune and Daniil Medvedev find themselves in the same quarter. The Danish world No. 8, currently advised by Andre Agassi this week, will start against a qualifier or Alexandre Müller. Medvedev, meanwhile, will take on Reilly Opelka or a qualifier. Opelka defeated him last month on the grass of 's-Hertogenbosch.

Defending finalist Flavio Cobolli will have to navigate a tricky section of the draw featuring Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe.

Finally, after Mpetshi Perricard and Müller, three more French players are in the draw. Gaël Monfils will challenge a qualifier, Quentin Halys will face Aleksandar Kovacevic (a finalist in Los Cabos), and Benjamin Bonzi will take on Fabian Marozsan.
