The last group-stage match of the 2025 Hopman Cup took place this Saturday.

It pitted Canada against Greece in Group A. The Canadians, represented by Félix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu, had already defeated Spain in both singles matches yesterday.

The scenario was identical today, with wins over Despina Papamichail (6-1, 6-2) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (7-6, 6-3). Canada thus joins Italy in the final of the event. The host nation had secured its qualification yesterday by defeating France in Group B.

The singles matches will feature Flavio Cobolli against Félix Auger-Aliassime and Lucia Bronzetti against Bianca Andreescu. A mixed doubles match will be played if the score is tied after the two singles. In any case, the winner will be a first-time champion, as neither Italy nor Canada has ever reached the final of this exhibition before.

A tennis player's income depends solely on his sporting results. In the event of injury, the daily life of those far from the Top 100 can become extremely complicated.

Born almost by accident in an Acapulco garden, padel has in fifty years become a global phenomenon that both fascinates and worries tennis. Its meteoric rise is already reshaping the landscape of racket sports.

Exhausted but omnipresent stars, ever-longer tournaments and exhibitions that have become a business in their own right: tennis is revealing its deepest contradictions, torn between spectacle and physical survival.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
