ATP Finals: Alcaraz dispatches Auger-Aliassime and secures another final against Sinner
Carried by a display of force against Auger-Aliassime, Alcaraz secures a dream final against Sinner. Two confident monsters, a major title at stake: the ATP Finals has its perfect poster.
Carlos Alcaraz didn't waste any time joining his rival Jannik Sinner in the ATP Finals. The world No. 1, now guaranteed to finish the year atop the ATP rankings, faced Félix Auger-Aliassime in the semi-final tonight.
On a good run of form at the end of this season (title in Brussels, final in Paris), the Canadian seemed to have the weapons to trouble Alcaraz. But the match turned into a demonstration, with the Spaniard proving irresistible on the court in Turin.
In 1 hour and 22 minutes, and without giving his opponent the slightest chance, Alcaraz won 6-2, 6-4. He delivered an impeccable performance with 25 winners and only 10 unforced errors.
A strong message sent to Sinner, whom he will try to beat for the fifth time this year in a final. The Italian, unbeatable indoors since the end of the 2023 season, for his part aims to deny the Spaniard a first ATP Finals title.
