ATP Paris: Moutet Gets Past Opelka and Will Face Bublik Again

Corentin Moutet made his entrance against Reilly Opelka, a surprising lucky loser given that the American had withdrawn from the second round of qualifying due to an injury.

Despite this, it was Opelka who took the early advantage with a break in the second game. With only 5 return points won in this first set, it was impossible for the Frenchman to come back in the score.

But Moutet was more vigilant on his service games in the second set and didn't have to save any break points this time. He managed to win this set on his 4th break point, which was also a set point on Opelka's serve.

The American then collapsed in the decisive set, which was one-sided. Thanks to his early break, Moutet took control against a helpless Opelka.

The Frenchman ultimately wins 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 and will face Alexander Bublik in the next round, an opponent with whom he had a clash during their last encounter in March at the Phoenix Challenger, as shown in the video below.
