Auger-Aliassime beats Cazaux to make a successful Montpellier debut
No.2 seed at the Open d'Occitanie, Félix Auger-Aliassime got the better of Arthur Cazaux (6-4, 7-6) in his first match.
After a first set in which he broke early on, the second set was a little more tightly contested between the two men, who held their service games until the tie-break.
In the tie-break, Cazaux took the lead 5-2, but Auger-Aliassime went on to win the match by five points in a row.
Buoyed by an excellent serve in these indoor conditions (11 aces, 78% first serves), the Canadian will face Yunchaokete Bu, winner earlier in the day of Constant Lestienne (6-2, 6-1), in the quarter-finals.
