Badosa Expected to Be Out for Several Weeks: "I Hope to Be Back Very Soon"
After reaching her first Grand Slam semifinal earlier this year at the Australian Open, Paula Badosa hasn’t been able to build on that momentum. The world No. 11, who has been struggling with a recurring back injury, had to withdraw from the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells.
Though she was present in Miami, the Spaniard ultimately withdrew before her Round of 16 match in Florida against rising Philippine star Alexandra Eala. In recent hours, the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston confirmed Badosa’s withdrawal from its 2025 edition, which takes place next week.
That’s not all, as Badosa herself broke her silence on social media to discuss her situation, confirming that she is likely to miss several weeks of competition.
"Hello everyone, as you know, I had to withdraw from the WTA 1000 in Miami and upcoming tournaments. It’s truly sad and tough to deal with the pain. What’s even harder is having to stop and return to the court each time.
Now, it’s time to go through the recovery process once again. I hope to be back very soon," Badosa shared on Instagram in recent hours.
