Bautista Agut withdraws from Toronto Masters 1000, Gaston enters main draw
Withdrawals for next week's Toronto Masters 1000 continue to pile up. The latest is Roberto Bautista Agut. The 37-year-old Spaniard, ranked 53rd in the world, was just eliminated by Thiago Seyboth Wild in Kitzbühel (7-5, 7-5) and will not participate in the Canadian tournament.
He is replaced by Hugo Gaston, who enters the main draw without having to play qualifying rounds. While the reason for Bautista Agut's withdrawal remains unknown for now, he becomes the 11th player to pull out of Toronto.
Before him, six top-20 players withdrew (Sinner, Alcaraz, Draper, Djokovic, Paul, and Dimitrov), as well as four others currently ranked in the ATP top 45 (Korda, Thompson, Hurkacz, and Berrettini).
