Beaten in Acapulco qualifying, Mannarino continues his downward spiral
Adrian Mannarino continues to lose this season, beaten yesterday in the ATP 500 Acapulco qualifying round by Adam Walton (6-4, 6-0).
Although the first set was evenly balanced until 4-4, the Frenchman then lost eight games in a row, letting his opponent win the match in 1h17 of play.
This was Mannarino's eighth defeat in nine matches this season. Worse still, he has a record of 12 wins to 36 losses since his semi-final in Dallas last year.
Ranked 17th in the world at the start of 2024, he also dropped out of the Top 100 this year for the first time in eleven years. He is currently 128th in the ATP rankings.
