Becker: "When Zverev came onto the court with his head down, I thought 'Oh my God'.

Becker: When Zverev came onto the court with his head down, I thought 'Oh my God'.

Boris Becker spoke to Andrea Petkovic's podcast about the Australian Open final, won by Jannik Sinner in three sets against Alexander Zverev.

He spoke about his compatriot Zverev, as well as his attitude on the court.

He says: "When Zverev came onto the court with his shoulders slightly slumped and his head down, I thought 'Oh my God, oh my God'.

He was tense, nervous, not in the right frame of mind. This is going to be difficult. Then Jannik Sinner came onto the court with his back straight and his head up.

In a final like this, it's all about strategy, forehands and ball control.

But above all, it's a question of mindset and mentality. And for me, that's what made the big difference between Sinner and Zverev.

Of course, Jannik played perfectly, and we must pay tribute to him. On hard court, he's almost invincible - not just for Zverev, but for everyone."
