Bergs takes Gasquet out for his last Paris-Bercy match
Richard Gasquet bade farewell to the Paris-Bercy tournament this afternoon, beaten in the 1st round by Zizou Bergs.
The Belgian, drafted in from the qualifiers yesterday after the withdrawal of Flavio Cobolli, was extremely solid throughout the match to win in two sets (6-3, 6-4).
Trailing early on in both sets, Gasquet may well regret the break points he had at 5-3 in the first set and 1-0 in his favor in the second.
Zizou Bergs continues his run in Paris and will face another Frenchman in the 2nd round, Adrian Mannarino.
Richard Gasquet, meanwhile, bids farewell to the Parisian tournament with many memories, having competed here 17 times.
