Berrettini is back: "Final preparations... See you soon in Hangzhou!"
After his surprising defeat at Wimbledon and several months of break, Matteo Berrettini is preparing for his big return to the courts at the ATP 250 in Hangzhou. The Italian hopes to finally break free from his recurring injuries.
We last saw Berrettini at Wimbledon, where he suffered a first-round loss to Kamil Majchrzak.
Since then, the former world No. 6 took a break from the tour to "reflect on his future" and also take the time to be 100% physically fit, as he has been plagued by injuries in recent years.
Ahead of the Asian tour, Berrettini announced his return on social media with these words: "Final preparations... See you soon in Hangzhou!"
Currently ranked 58th in the world, the 2021 Wimbledon finalist will participate for the first time in his career in the Hangzhou tournament, where players like Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Alexander Bublik are also expected.
