Berrettini, Mr. 50% after his Gstaad title!
Matteo Berrettini won the 2024 edition of the Gstaad tournament (ATP 250) on Sunday. His 9th career title. In the final, he made short work of France's Quantin Halys in 59 minutes and two sets (6-3, 6-1).
The Italian took control of the match after 20 minutes of play, stringing together 9 consecutive games when trailing 3-2 in the 1st set. He was not troubled by the rain interruption at 5-3 in his favor.
In 2024, Berretini reached the final in half the tournaments he played (4 out of 8). And of the 4 finals he played, he lost two (Stuttgart and Phoenix Challenger 175) and won two (Marrakech and Gstaad). Mr. 50%.
