Big surprise regarding the identity of the future National Technical Director of the FFT

The French Tennis Federation seems to be nearing its goal regarding the name of its future National Technical Director.
While Nicolas Escudé's mission ended in July 2024, the FFT is expected to officially announce the successor of the former professional tennis player, aged 48 and ranked 17th in the ATP in 2000, very soon.
According to information from Le Figaro, the FFT is nevertheless expected to surprise and confirm the appointment of Didier Retière, a former professional rugby player who held the position of National Technical Director at the French Rugby Federation between 2014 and 2022.
Aged 56, Retière would then become the first person not from the tennis world to hold this position within the FFT.
On sick leave since October 2023, Escudé, who has therefore not been in office for several months, had seen Mathilde Lethuillier appointed as Deputy National Technical Director and had contributed to maintaining the various activities of the FFT during the Paris Olympic Games last summer.
