Didier Retière Officially Appointed National Technical Director of the FFT!
Monday, March 24, 2025 – Didier Retière (56) has just been officially named DTN (National Technical Director) of the French Tennis Federation (FFT).
Following the departure of Nicolas Escudé in November 2023, the former French rugby international will assume his role in the coming days. This marks the first time an outsider to the tennis world has been appointed to this position.
"The goal is to open the Federation to a specialist in sports management, according to President Gilles Moretton," reports the newspaper L'Équipe.
"My intention is to contribute to the implementation of an ambitious project by leveraging the expertise of the professionals and technicians already working within the FFT.
My priority will be to connect with these key players who, all across France, keep tennis, padel, pickleball, beach tennis, and paratennis thriving every day," Retière stated in a press release issued by the FFT.
To justify this choice, Moretton explained that the current sporting director of ASM Clermont "has distinguished himself through his managerial skills, solid experience, and vision."
