Binaghi sets the tone: "Turin could become the hub of Italian tennis"

The president of the Italian Tennis Federation, Angelo Binaghi, has sent a message regarding the future of his sport in Italy. In office since 2001, he hopes that the country will continue to host major sporting events, particularly the ATP Finals.
In an interview with our colleagues at Corriere della Sera, Angelo Binaghi discusses the allocation of the ATP Finals. Discussions are ongoing regarding the location of future editions. While Milan and Turin are being considered, the Italian leader advocates for the Piedmont capital:
"We have put forward the idea that Turin could become the hub of tennis in Italy. We have in mind a permanent structure and a construction project in which we would participate.
A structure not only for tennis but also for other disciplines and major events. Of course, we can only propose ideas, nothing more."
Angelo Binaghi would therefore like to host the finals in Turin. However, he is aware that he has no control over this decision:
"Today, I would bet on Italian tennis and its ability to attract events. All while trying to create a unique venue, which does not yet exist in Italy.
But I am not a public administrator. Turin or Milan? The choice does not depend on Milan, but on the fact that, unlike the Rome Masters, which is our event, the finals depend on the ATP.
Hosting them in Italy for five years was already a miracle. We will present our best solutions to the ATP. Turin is certainly one of them. We will see based on the responses."
