BJK Cup: Mauresmo Soon to Return as Captain of the French Team?
A prominent figure in French women's tennis and current director of Roland-Garros, Amélie Mauresmo might also reclaim the position of captain for the French Billie Jean King Cup team.
This week, L'Équipe reports that the former coach of Andy Murray has submitted her candidacy, now competing with those of Sophie Amiach and Pauline Parmentier. For reference, Julien Benneteau left the captaincy at the end of April, not wishing to continue in his role after the Vilnius failure.
Mauresmo previously served as captain between 2012 and 2016, leading the French team to the final of the 2015 edition, narrowly lost to the Czech Republic.
The French team is currently in the second division of the competition and has no matches scheduled until the 2026 season.
