It's (almost) official: Amélie Mauresmo in pole position to take over the French team!

Eight years after her first term, Amélie Mauresmo is set to take the reins of the French Billie Jean King Cup team again. According to L'Équipe, a few details remain to be sorted out, but her return is imminent—with Pauline Parmentier by her side to restore hope to a French team seeking a revival.
Things are becoming clearer at the helm of the French Billie Jean King Cup team. Since April and the end of Julien Benneteau's contract, the FFT had received various applications, including those from Pauline Parmentier, Sophie Amiach, and Amélie Mauresmo.
It is the latter, the current director of Roland-Garros and a former captain between 2013 and 2016 (with a lost final against the Czech Republic), who will be appointed captain by the FFT.
L'Équipe reported this Monday that "a few details remain to be settled before the recruitment is finalized" but that everything is "on the right track."
The former world No. 1 and two-time Grand Slam champion would be accompanied by Pauline Parmentier in her duties leading the French team. She will have the heavy task of putting the French team back in the spotlight, stuck in the second division of the competition after a defeat against Belgium in April.
Following the retirements of Caroline Garcia and Alizé Cornet, Mauresmo will be able to count on new faces such as Loïs Boisson, Elsa Jacquemot, or Sarah Rakotomanga.
