Boisson Parts Ways with Coach Just Before Her First US Open

Just months after her semifinal run at Roland-Garros, Loïs Boisson is set to experience the fervor of Flushing Meadows.
The French No. 1, who hasn’t had much time to prepare (withdrawals in Montreal and Cincinnati, first-round exit in Cleveland), will face Viktorija Golubic in her opening match.
During a press conference this Saturday, the 22-year-old player took the opportunity to announce the end of her collaboration with coach Florian Reynet:
“I just ended things with my coach. We’ve been having some trouble understanding each other for a while. At certain tournaments, we needed to take time apart, each on our own. It’s been a bit complicated since the beginning of the year.
That’s why I went to Hamburg with Pauline (Parmentier). Just before Roland, I also played the Saint-Gaudens tournament all by myself. Now, we’ve made the decision.
We tried our best, we looked for solutions all year. We just realized when we got here that it might not be able to continue. It’s just little details where we can’t bring out the best in each other, so it’s better to stop here.
I still thank him for everything because we really did good work these past few years. I wish him all the best for the future. On my end, we’ll see how things go after New York. Pauline will come back to help me during this tournament here.”
Pauline Parmentier, former world No. 40, will accompany Boisson during the tournament. She will arrive on-site tomorrow, as reported by L’Équipe.
