Early this afternoon on Arthur Ashe Court, Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimova will compete for the third ticket to the US Open semifinals. Following the qualifications of Sabalenka and Pegula, the Polish and American players will meet again just weeks after the Wimbledon final.

The current world number 2 had triumphed in a one-sided final (6-0, 6-0). A few hours before their rematch on the court in New York, Anisimova discusses her upcoming match against Swiatek and is determined to seek revenge.

"The Wimbledon final was a poor performance in every aspect. It didn't help me become a better player, but it was an enriching experience.

Bouncing back from that was a bit difficult because it had never happened to me before. But I processed it, I moved on. I'm really happy to have the chance to face her again," she stated, according to quotes collected by L'Équipe.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
