By winning the UTS, De Minaur accumulated more winnings than a French Open semi-finalist
Alex De Minaur was crowned winner of the 2024 edition of the UTS in London on Sunday, beating Holger Rune in the final.
While players appreciate this parallel competition for its original and intense format, there's also a nice cheque up for grabs for the event's winner.
The Australian, thanks to his victory in the final, took home 750,000 euros.
By way of comparison, the semi-finalists at this year's French Open pocketed 650,000 euros.
And if we use another example, the prize money of the UTS winner corresponds (give or take a few thousand euros) to that of the doubles pairs crowned at Wimbledon this season.
A nice cheque for De Minaur, which comes just in time to buy his Christmas presents.
