Carreño Busta, winner of two Challengers in Tenerife: "My aim is to enter the main draw at Roland Garros".

Pablo Carreño Busta is looking for lost time. The Spaniard, former world No. 10 and winner of the Canadian Open in 2022, has had an injury-plagued 2023 season and start to 2024, which has prevented him from playing any real tournaments.
In a bid to regain a decent ranking, the 33-year-old decided to return to the Challengers at the start of the season.
Over the past two weeks, he has played in two tournaments in this category in Tenerife. In the end, he won both events, losing just one set in nine matches (he forfeited the second round in the second week).
Thanks to this winning streak, Carreño Busta has returned to 111th place, and is now within touching distance of a return to the top 100.
In fact, Carreño Busta is making no secret of the fact that he has set himself a major objective for the coming months.
"With the exception of the match against Gaubas in the quarter-finals of the first tournament, which was quite complicated, I managed the rest of my matches quite well, with virtually no danger.
That's because I stayed focused the whole time, and that's what made the difference. My next tournament will be in Indian Wells, where I'll be playing in the qualifying rounds.
There'll be a change in level, so it'll be a step up. Hopefully, I'll be able to concentrate exclusively on the ATP circuit.
Clearly, two weeks ago I came to Tenerife with the aim of breaking into the top 100, knowing that I needed almost 300 points.
Now I've scored 150 points in two weeks, which will go a long way to helping me achieve that goal. From now on, my aim is to enter the main draw at Roland Garros," he assured Punto De Break.
