Cazaux Takes Down Etcheverry, the 4th Seed, in Gstaad
Cazaux faced Etcheverry in the second round of the ATP 250 tournament in Gstaad. After his successful qualification at Wimbledon, the young French player switched surfaces and returned to clay following Roland-Garros and Lyon, among others.
After defeating Basilashvili in his opening match in Switzerland (4-6, 7-5, 7-6), Cazaux kept the momentum going by knocking out the 4th seed in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-4). With this result, he matched his best performance of the year (San Diego in February).
Ranked 116th in the ATP, the 22-year-old will now face the winner of the match between Passaro and Kym for a spot in the semifinals.
