Cervara: "Murray knows nothing about coaching, he'll learn as he goes along".
Andy Murray's appointment as Novak Djokovic's coach has caused quite a stir in the tennis world.
Gilles Cervara, coach of Daniil Medvedev, commented: "Knowing Murray, I'm not surprised. I knew he wouldn't be able to sit still for more than two or three months after his retirement.
But he doesn't have what you might call a training methodology, he doesn't know anything about coaching, so he's going to learn as he goes along.
That's not why Novak wants to work with him. When it comes to coaching, either Novak knows himself so well that he doesn't need anyone else, or he'll ask the rest of his team for a hand.
You always need someone to take you to areas where you wouldn't go on your own, where you have training methods that allow you to explore.
Anything is possible between the two. I imagine that this combination will bring Djokovic a lot. After that, there's a physical and energetic reality, in the scheme of things, which means that it's going to be tough for him with or without Murray, but that's also the case for several of his rivals."
