Cobolli after his first career title: "Finally, this day has come"
Flavio Cobolli won the first title of his career by defeating Baez (6-4, 6-4) in the final of the Bucharest tournament.
After the match, the Italian emotionally reflected on his victory in an interview with SuperTennis:
"It’s a dream come true. Finally, this day has arrived. I was coming off a tough period, but something changed in the last few weeks. It’s not easy to play against Baez on clay, as he’s won a lot on this surface. It was a great battle and a great victory.
I also want to thank my team—I know it’s tough working with me, but there are happy days like this one. I promise to keep improving my attitude on the court in the future."
Competing at the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000, he will face Lajovic in the first round.
