Tabilo Battles Past Wawrinka in Grueling Match to Face Djokovic Next
After a one-sided first set and trailing by a break in the final set (1-3), Alejandro Tabilo staged a comeback against Stan Wawrinka (1-6, 7-5, 7-5) in Monte-Carlo.
The Chilean secured his first clay-court victory since his semifinal run in Rome in 2024 and notched his third win of 2025. Meanwhile, the Swiss veteran, at just 40 years old, had been delivering strong performances in Naples and Bucharest.
He will now take on Djokovic in the second round.
