Collins puts tennis on pause at the start of 2026
Danielle Collins hasn't played since August 26th and her loss to Taylor Townsend at the US Open. The American had initially announced her retirement for the 2025 season but ultimately decided to give herself another chance after an excellent 2024 season.
She recently gave an update and explained that she won't be returning to competition right away. She explained: "I wanted to give you some news, as many of you have been asking for it!
I took a few months off to recover from my end-of-season back injury. I also underwent several egg freezing sessions. It's truly an incredible experience!
"You'll see me on Tennis Channel"
But at the same time, these hormones are really tough. I'm so grateful to my friends who have supported me a lot during this time. I have one last procedure left.
So, I won't be participating in competitions during the first part of the year. But you'll see me in another way on Tennis Channel. That's all for now. See you soon for more news!"
