Collins/Harrison Pair Replaces Siniakova/Sinner for US Open Mixed Doubles

Sick and appearing in the final of the Cincinnati Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner was unable to defend his chances and withdrew while trailing Carlos Alcaraz 5-0 in the first set.
As the defending champion in Ohio, the Italian must now defend the points from his US Open title won last year. But to conserve his energy as much as possible, Sinner ultimately decided to withdraw from the mixed doubles tournament he was scheduled to play alongside Katerina Siniakova.
On its X account (formerly Twitter), the US Open announced that the Italian and the Czech player have been replaced by Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison, forming an all-American pair.
Collins recently announced that the US Open would be her final tournament of the year. As a result, she will not only compete in the women's singles tournament but will also take part in mixed doubles. The Collins/Harrison duo will face the pair of Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev in the first round.
