Connors on Sabalenka: "She can also be competitive on clay"

Victorious in Miami against Pegula (7-5, 6-2), Sabalenka once again demonstrated her superiority on hard courts.
However, as the clay season has just begun, many wonder whether the world No. 1 will be able to replicate this performance on a surface she is less fond of.
In comments reported by Tennis World Italia, Jimmy Connors discussed the Belarusian's game. The former champion remains optimistic about her adaptation to clay:
"We are now transitioning from hard courts to clay courts. It may not be her favorite surface, but I think she can also be competitive.
Sabalenka is the world No. 1, so she’s strong on all surfaces. Of course, hard courts, the US Open, and the Australian Open are and will remain her favorites.
But now, it will be interesting to see what happens, as a fairly intense schedule begins with three Grand Slam tournaments in four months.
It will be fascinating to see how she prepares for each tournament, from clay to grass and back to hard courts.
I’ve always enjoyed watching Aryna play because she is always very focused and has worked hard to get to where she is now."
