Henman on Alcaraz's situation: "I don’t see this as a crisis at all"
After his first-round loss in Miami against Goffin (5-7, 6-4, 6-3), many are wondering if Alcaraz will be able to bounce back. With the first major clay-court tournament (Monte-Carlo) approaching, the young player seems to be going through a rough patch, according to some experts.
However, not everyone shares this criticism. Tim Henman, former world No. 4, addressed the Spaniard’s situation in an interview with TNT Sports:
"I don’t see this as a crisis at all. He’s not playing his best tennis, but all of this is part of the learning process.
From my perspective, shot selection is still an area where he can improve. When he does, he’ll become a more consistent player.
He’s one of the best players in the world, so I believe he’s capable of winning any tournament he enters. The upcoming clay-court season is the perfect opportunity for him to respond."
